This creative piece originated out of the fascination with the history and story behind "19 Crimes"

Beginning in 1783, British criminals who were charged with one or more of 19 crime specific crimes, were punished by "transportation", being deported to Australia. Between 1788 and 1868 more that 150,000 convicts from England were sent there. These were petty crimes, most of which included larceny, destruction of property, fraud and other similar acts. Many of the lawless died at sea. For those who made it, a new world awaited. After serving their time, these ex-convicts would often stay, and that is how Australia as a country was born. A true picture of overcoming adversity.
